For the past many weeks I have been playing around with my photos, doing a little web design, and still I am not even close to exploring everything that MAGIX Photo Premium 9 has to offer. In fact, I kept postponing this review in the hopes that I would get to learn more about the MAGIX Photo Pemium 9, but the truth is that there are so many dimensions to this fabulous photo editing program that it is going to take me a long time to explore everything.

MAGIX Photo Premium 9 is a comprehensive photo editing program, but it is so much more than that. It also includes the Xara Extreme 5 web design program and the MAGIX PhotoStory on CD and DVD 9 Deluxe.

After installing Windows 7 on my work computer, I had a lot of issues with my previous photoprogram, so Windows 7 compatibility was a big concern of mine. Fortunately it turns out that MAGIX product supports the newest Windows version, and I had no issues with using the MAGIX Photo Premium 9 in Windows 7.

MAGIX Xara Xtreme 5

Xara Xtreme 5 is great at helping you design your website, blog, blog buttons, banners and more. This is actually the part of MAGIX Photo Premium 9 that I have been using the most. I have been creating buttons, headers and more, and I love how I have more flexibility to create the images more freely and to add clipart and different fonts.

With MAGIX Xara Xtreme 5 you can:

  • Create documents
  • Produce and customize websites
  • Make complex illustrations
  • Create PDF documents
  • Make flash animations,
  • Create complete web page layouts and websites.
  • Draw sinple logos, greeting cards, invitations and detailed illustrations.

I love Magix Xara Xtreme because it has:

  • Easy templates if you have no or little web design experience.
  • Endless possibilities if you have experience.
  • You can publish your product directly from the program to your website.

Below you see a few of the products I have made with MAGIX Xara Xtreme.

MAGIX PhotoStory on CD and DVD 9

MAGIX PhotoStory on CD and DVD 9 puts your photos onto a CD or DVD as a slideshow. You can create the slideshow manually or with a wizard depending on your comfort level, and if you have explore the program, there are lots of extra features that you can implement into your slideshow.

You can create a slideshow manually or with the wizard.

    Installation

Installing the Magix Photo Premium 9, and MAGIX Xara Xtreme 5 took about 30 minutes per program. It was a simple and uncomplicated step-by-step process (I could do it without my husband’s help), and I could continue my work while the programs installed.

Make sure to unclick the boxes that install the Ask toolbar, unless of course you want it on your computer.

You will run into this issue again, if you have to download templates.

    Final Thoughts

I have been working on the review of the MAGIX Photo Premium 9 photo editing program for quite a while, because every time I sit down to explore the program the time just runs away. There are so many levels to MAGIX Photo Premium 9 and the included Xara Extreme 5 that I never really felt as if (and still don’t) I had explored everything that the MAGIX Photo Premium 9 has to offer. Even though I have spent weeks with the programs, I am still learning, and I am finding new wonders every day.

One of my only problems with the MAGIX Photo Premium 9 is that I had to get used to the different terminology from the photo programs that I have previously used. I have spent a great amount of time at the MAGIX help sections, and as a result I am finally beginning to understand all of the ins and outs. Still there is so much more for me to learn, and I am eager to continue this process, as MAGIX Photo Premium 9 is very comprehensive and encompasses many more avenues than I have been used to with my previous photo editing program.

MAGIX Premium 9 really is a photo program for both the amateur photographer and blogger, as well as for those who work with photo editing and website design on a professional level. It is all up to the user, how much he or she wants to get out of MAGIX Photo Premium 9, as the program offers endless possibilities.
