Now that the kids are on holiday break, watching a movie is a great way to get them to wind down after a day out. My family’s entertainment budget is very small, so for some frugal family fun, I try to track down all of the free movies. My kids have no idea that there is no money in the budget for family fun.
I use several different sources to get free movies:
My Coke Rewards:
My Coke rewards is having a 50 percent off sale on some of their rewards included in their holiday gift guide, and these include the Blockbuster rewards. My boys love the family movie night which includes 2 free blockbuster rentals, 2 cokes and a pop corn tub. Print these now, as they might disappear very soon.
My kids are great at finding my coke rewards points, when we are out and about. I also find a lot of my coke rewards codes, when I am walking to and from school with the kids.

Erewards: I am a member of E-rewards, one of the best survey sites out there. One of the rewards is 1 free blockbuster movie every month. E-rewards is closed for new members, unless you get an invitation from a participating companies. I have received invitations from being signed up for Blockbuster, Borders and Pizza Hut newsletters. So if you receive an E-rewards invitation, make sure to jump on it. I also get $15 in Borders Bucks each year from E-rewards, and they pay $2-$6 per survey. (Dec 2011 update: You now get 10 free Blockbuster Express Kiosk for $10 Erewards points).
Blockbuster: Keep your eye out for the Blockbuster Express coupons. Try the code thanku to get a FREE rental! Thea code for a FREE movie rental is valid 12/23 and 12/24.
Redbox: Keep your eye out for Redbox rental codes.
Our local library: Every Friday I usually take out 10 movies from our local library. 10 is the limit, and from experience I have learned that several of them do not work due to scratches. We can usually take out the movies for 5 days, but the first thing I do, when I get home is renew the movies, just in case I do not make it back in time. Our library charges $1 per day per movie….so I am very careful with this.
