This week is shopping week around here, as I finally have coupons to combine with sales to use some items that my family needs. On Saturday I went to JC Penney, and this morning I was finally able to get to Kohl’s to do some coupon shopping. I had 4 x $10 off $20 Kohl’s coupons, and I was hoping to find some great deals on things we needed. My toddler recently broke my favorite ceramic cooking dish, and since then I have been scrambling whenever I needed to cook meat in the oven, as the other dish I have is too big.
I knew that the right size Pyrex dish I wanted was between $10 and $11 at Target, and I had a $1 Pyrex coupon, which could not be used at Kohl’s. I was hoping to find a better deal with the $10 off $20 coupon, and I sure got lucky as the Purex dish was on sale. Of course I forgot that I had a $10 Kohl’s gift card, but I am going to go back next week, so I can use it the two last coupons.
Transaction 1:
Tween Shorts reg. price $32 on clearance at Kohl’s $12.80
Pyrex dish reg. price $11.99 on sale at Kohl’s for $7.99
Subtotal $20.79
- $10 off $20 Kohl’s Coupon
Tax $0.65
Total out of pocket $11.44
Total saved $33.20
Transaction 2:
Tween swim shirt reg. price $22 on sale at $11
Hat reg. price $26 on sale at $13
Subtotal $24
- $10 off $20 Kohl’s Coupon
Total out of pocket $14.84
Total saved $34
Total spent $26.28
Total saved $67.20
I did not do as well on my savings as I have done in the past, but I got what my family needed at a reasonable price. When I break it down, the price of each item came to $6.57, and I sure don’t know many places I could get what I want and actually have something to choose between as well for that price.
