When I first started blogging, I had lots of skepticism, lots of hope and lots of questions. With the help of some kind and helpful online friends, I managed to set up my first blog and somehow I found my way around the blogging world. There are lots of places to find blogging tips, lots of websites dedicated purely to the purpose of sharing blogging tips and tricks, but I am creating the Blogging Tips series at Frugality Is Free to share the blogging tips that I have found helpful in my efforts to make Frugality Is Free Successful.
Some of the areas I will cover in the Blogging Tips series:
  • How to monetize a blog
  • Expand your blogging network
  • Increase blog views
  • How to use keywords
  • Simple HTML tricks
  • The importance of links
  • How to become a product reviewer

Starting a blog is extremely easy, and with recent updates to the Blogger program, creating a great-looking, personalized blog became easier for those who are not familiar with html code. There are other blogging platforms such as wordpress, but my wordpress knowledge is very limited, so the blogging tips here at Frugality Is free is based on the blogger platform.
This series is meant to teach any beginning blogger how to make a blog successful, and by successful I mean creating a loyal readership, getting a significant number of views and making money from blogging.
I am by no means a blogging expert, and I am still learning new blogging tips and html tricks every day, but after two years of blogging I am earning more than I would by taking on a part-time job. Instead I can continue as a stay-at-home mom, forget about daycare for the kids, and help my family reach our savings goal.
In the struggling economy many mothers have turned to blogging for an extra income source for their family, and while a beginning blogger only earns pennies, it is in fact possible to earn just as much as you would by getting a part-time job (and in some cases even a full-time job).
Blogging is kind of like setting up your own company. It takes a lot of work and it takes a lot of time and effort, but if you are consistent, hardworking and willing to learn, you will soon be able to forget all about taking on that weekend cleaning job or starting a babysitting service.
If you have not already done so, it is easy to set up a blog, but before you do so there are a few factors you need to consider.
The first post in the Blogging Tips series will be about starting a blog.
