Im dirty and I stink scholastic
With three boys in the house, dirt has become a daily encounter. My boys love dirt, whether it is sand in their sandbox, sand on the beach or just straight out mud. So, when I first heard about the I’m Dirty & I Stink collection from the Scholastic Storybook Treasures series, I knew it would be a hit with my boys.
The I’m Dirty & I Stink DVD set contains 12 action-filled classics that construction and outdoor fascinated kids will love. Besides the the two title stories by best-selling authors Kate and Jim McMullan, the I’m Dirty & I Stink collection includes ten more tales about trucks, trash, boats, dirt and bikes.
Seeing some of my kids’ favorite books come alive on the screen is priceless, and the kids love to see how their favorite characters take on new adventures on the television. All of the stories are adapted from award-winning books, and they have been narrated by celebrities such as Andy Richter, Forest Whitaker and Steve Buscemi.
The I’m Dirty & I Stink  DVD set includes scholastic’s innovative read-along captioning, which is a great plus for my oldest sons. My five-year-old son is beginning to read and recognize words, as he will be starting Kindergarten this fall, and I often find my oldest son reading along to the stories, even if he does not intend to.
I Stink! is a smelly story about Mr. Gilly and an adventurous New York City garbage truck that likes to eat alphabet soup, and this is one of my sons’ favorites.
I’m Dirty, features a cool backhoe loader, who loves his job. While he is cleaning up and working hard, he also plays an alphabet game and works on counting.
Aside from featuring Scholastic’s innovative read-along captioning, the DVD set also includes bonus interviews with I’m Dirty and I Stink! authors Kate and Jim McMullan.

At the moment it is so hot in South Florida that we have to minimize our outdoors time during the midday hours, and with three boys home television is of course a nice escape once in a while. I prefer that my boys watch something educational, or perhaps have some computer time, but the Scholastic Storybook Treasures dvd series is a great alternative to regular tv watching.
