This morning I woke up the infamous Acer Black Screen problem, which is also referred to as the Acer black screen of death. I have encountered the Acer black screen problem numerous times, and it is extremely frustrating.
Fortunately there is an easy fix to the Acer Black Screen, and the best part is that it is an extremely frugal solution. If you have encountered the Acer black screen problem, you do not need to contact Acer support, open up your laptop, replace a new graphics card or the driver. I want to emphasize that I am by no means a computer expert, and there might be other problems with your laptop, so that this solution won’t work. However, before calling on the professionals and ending up with an expensive tech bill, I strongly encourage you to try this frugal solution.
If you have an Acer laptop, I encourage you to write down these easy steps, and keep the note somewhere that you will not loose it. This way you can easily fight and win over the Acer black screen problem, next time it starts looming on your Acer laptop.
The Acer Black Screen Fix:
- Turn off your computer
- Remove the power supply
- Remove the battery
- Hold down the power key for 30 – 60 seconds
- Put back the power and the battery
- Start the computer
I have noticed that my Acer 5515 encounters the Acer Black Screen issue, whenever I have had it on for a while and then close down the screen. My solution to avoid this problem: I simply do not close down the screen unless my computer is off. Not everyone remembers this, so once in a while I find my laptop closed down, and I have to battle the Acer black screen once again.
