My kids and I have lots of Caldecott honor book favorites, so I was very excited to discover that Scholastic was releasing a new Caldecott DVD. The Scholastic Storybook Treasures Caldecott Favorites DVD collection is full of some fantastic award winning stories from authors such as Ezra Jack Keats, Hans Christian Andersen and Marjorie Flack.
The Caldecott Medal was named in honor of nineteenth-century English illustrator Randolph Caldecott, and it is awarded annually by the American Library Association, to the artist of the most distinguished American picture book for children. This is a prestigious award that is given only to the best of the best, and in my experience you can never go wrong with picking up a Caldecott Medal book.
The Scholastic Storybook Treasures Caldecott Favorites DVD collection consists of three separate DVDs with a total of 20 stories. The stories are timeless adaptations of some of the 20th Century’s most loved children’s classics. This collection will be released in stores on November 22nd, but you can already purchase this collection online at the Scholastic Storybook Treasures website.
The collection includes three DVDS with a total of 3 hours and 19 minutes of stories.
