My boys and I just got home from a four hour walking trip, where we covered two playgrounds, and they had a lot of fun playing basketball, baseball, and just being kids. When we are out on our walks, I always try to make a big trip out of it, and we bring along our picnic blanket, our lunch and snacks. Today’s snack of choice were the Little Debbie Little Muffins, which were perfect for a special treat.
When my boys first got the choice of blueberry muffins or chocolate chip muffins, all three of them chose chocolate chip muffins. However, when they were done savoring their chocolate chip muffins, they happily accepted the offer of trying out the blueberry muffins too.
Amazingly, they all agreed that the blueberry muffins from Little Debbie were just as good as the chocolate chip muffins. My boys soon started sharing the Little Muffins from Little Debbie with their friends on the playground, and they were all coming back for more.
I was also very surprised about the very natural taste of the Little Debbie blueberry muffins, because I usually do not like anything with a blueberry taste – unless it is actual blueberries. However, the Little Muffins from Little Debbie have real blueberries in them, and this makes all the difference.
The chocolate chip muffins are made with semi-sweet chocolate chips, and I was surprised at how well the chocolate chip pieces held up despite the hot South Florida day. These Little Muffins chocolate chip muffins were perfect for a warm day at the park, and the kids loved them.
Both of the Little Muffin varieties from Little Debbie were delicious, they were moist, fresh and the perfect size for a playground snack. With five pouches containing four little muffins each, the Little Muffins from Little Debbie were just the right size to satisfy the kids, and they were soon off playing again.
- They come in bite-size portions for better portion control
- They come in two varieties – Chocolate Chip and Blueberry
- They offer convenient, on–the–go, packaging
- SRP per box $2.59.
- There are five packs per box, with four muffins per pack, so there are 20 muffins in each box.
Everyone at the playground were very satisfied with the Little Muffins from Little Debbie, and my boys surely loved getting their own pouch with tasty little muffins.
About Little Debbie
The Little Debbie brand is made by the McKee Bakery, an American family bakery with roots back to the Great Depression. Back then as a recent college graduate, O.D. McKee began selling 5 cent snack cakes from the back of his car. Together with his wife, he eventually bought a small bakery by using the family car as collateral.
In the beginning the small family created their own living quarters in the back of the bakery to make ends meet, but the bakery soon became profitable. In1960 the McKees began selling the first family pack of baked goods, naming them after their granddaughter, Debbie. The bakery has remained a family bakery, as O.D. and Ruth’s grandchildren now hold the leadership roles.
