I always try to buy as much local produce as possible, which is why I am excited about BJ’s Farm To Club program. Not only is local produce fresher because of less travel time, but buying local produce also helps support local farmers.
In Florida C&C Agricultural Farms in Clewiston and Rosemont Farms in Plant City are providing all Florida BJ’s locations with fresh corn, cucumbers, green peppers, yellow squash, zucchini, eggplant, tomatoes and green beans through the The Farm To Club program, and my family has enjoyed their fresh local produce at our dinner table.
BJ’s locally grown produce can be found in the Farm to Club section, which you see below. At my local South Florida store it was not by the regular produce section, so look around or ask a local BJ’s employee for the Farm to Club section.
If you are not already a BJ’s member, you can now get a 60 day free BJ’s trial membership that you can use at your local BJ’s.
My family has used the fresh local produce from the Farm to Club program at BJ’s for great tasting dinners and sides such as grilled pizzas, grilled eggplant with mozzarella, squash pancakes and much much more.
We added fresh tomatoes and basil from our own little vegetable garden, and we had a delicious grilled pizza with homegrown and local veggies.
The grilled eggplant with melted mozzarella cheese is one of my favorite ways to eat eggplant, and the eggplants from BJ’s Farm to Club program were huge, fresh and great tasting. To make grilled eggplant, simply cut eggplant into 1/2 inch thick slices, grill on one side, and turn when browned. Then add your favorite mozzarella cheese, close the grill lid down and grill until the mozzarella cheese has melted.
Grilled eggplant is an easy, quick and great-tasting vegetarian side, and the locally grown eggplants from BJ’s make grilled eggplant even better.
The corn from the BJ’s Farm to Club program was fresh and sweet, and the green peppers were large and crips – just the way we like our peppers. My oldest son loves fresh cut green peppers, and he quickly went through the fresh, locally grown peppers from BJ’s.
BJ’s Wholesale Club was founded in 1984, and today it has 190+ stores in 15 different states. At BJ’s you can get discounts by buying in bulk, and you can save 30 percent off grocery prices. One of the things I like about BJ’s is that I can still use manufacturer coupons, and BJ’s even come out with their own coupons as well. You can find the latest BJ’s coupons here.
