A few months ago I won a $40 Kohl’s gift card at a blog giveaway at Connecting Piece by Piece, and I also received a $10 gift card from Mypoints. The gift cards have been burning up in my wallet, but I have resisted going Kohl’s shopping, because I wanted to wait until my favorite capri pants went on clearance. When I received an email with a 20 percent off Kohl’s coupon plus tax free shopping in Florida and $10 Kohl’s cash back on purchases of $50, I was tempted but I still held out. Then I picked up my local paper, and on the front page was a $10 off $30 Kohl’s coupon. This was it, I could not resist temptation any longer, and I packed up the boys to head for Kohl’s.
I was hoping to find walking shoes for myself, as I go through these quite frequently due to all of our walking. Unfortunately, the once I found on clearance were 1/2 number too small. I almost picked up a pair of FILA sneakers for my oldest son, but in the end I decided against them. I will probably go back and get them with the $10 Kohl’s cash that I received after my shopping trip. My kids are pretty much set with clothes, especially the two youngest boys (the beauty of having three boys), and I did not find much at 80 percent off for my oldest son, but he did choose a pair of shorts. My kids wear uniforms for school, and they are basically all set from my clearance finds last year, and they each found shoes in the shoe box too. (Take a look at my how to save on shoes post here).

I am past halfway done with my Christmas shopping already, and if I had not had my boys with me I’d probably have thrown some gifts in there too.
I have everyone done but hubby. He is hard as everytime I get out I have him with me. Plus he is sooooooooooooooo particular. The past two years I gave him an experience day. Last year we went ATVing which if you saw us you would laugh. I am a major girly girl and he is a 64 year old man that is way stuck in his biz ways the ceo type.
Haven’t been to Kohl’s in ages, but I did do some business clothes shopping a couple weeks ago and found tons of incredible bargains. I would never be able to hold out for that long though.
Ok, I see in this post that you had the $50 in gift cards, but still wow on only .04 out of pocket plus you still have $10 to spend later.
The Kohls mailer at the top of my pile here is a card for 15% extra off of everything Aug 8-15th.
We don’t have the sales tax free times here at all.
If I remember correctly Kohl’s clearance prices on kids clothing gets even better in September, once the back-to-school sales are done. I am hoping to be able to get more gift cards to shop for:)
