groceries

This weekend I decided to skip my regular ALDI and Walmart shopping, because it is a very busy week. This meant that I switched the majority of my grocery shopping to Publix, but since we still have lots of meat and produce left from last week, I did not have to worry too much about expensive produce and meat at Publix. It’s been a long time since I used this many coupons in one trip, but I was able to find a young male cashier, which always makes it easier to get through the register with coupons. I split up my transactions into two to be able to use the 2 x $5/$50 Doris coupons from Recyclebank. I used Target coupons to get discounts on my favorite Publix coupons such as facial tissue, orange juice and cream cheese, and I just love this new part of the Publix coupon policy.

Beside the free deals, the best deal was on Smart Balance Lactose free milk, and I made sure to stock up. I am definitely going to head back on Wednesday to grab more milk, because my boys’ lactose free milk is soooo expensive. The lowest non-sale price for lactose free milk is $2.79 at ALDI, and that is still high for 1/2 gallon of milk.

  1. Sure wish Publix would make their way up here, we needs stores that run deals like this! Jewel/Osco is WAY ovrepriced and I end up at our local Woodmans store. thankfully they are reasonable, but nobody around here takes competitor coupons like publix. Awesome shopping!

  2. Debbie, do you have any double coupon stores around? This is what I miss from the north, but now that Publix do accept competitor coupoms it has definitely made Publix shopping much better.

  3. Our local Piggly Wiggly doubles on weekends, up to 10 per order but you also have to spend $25, but the problem with them is they are such a small store and even with doubling coupons I can still get it cheaper at walmart or target, once in a while they’ll have a great sale item that matches a coupon, but that’s about it. In Wisconsin, Pick N Save doubles up to 5, but they are like Jewel and priced higher, again it depends on the sales if it’s worth doubling, but only 5 is not alot either, especially when you have to spend $25 atleast. I know Walmart says they take competitor coupons, but I’ve had nothing but hassles from them so I stopped trying 🙁
