soldier costume

Halloween might be a few months away, but here at the Frugality Is Free family the kids are already talking about what they want to be. The baby is going to be a unicorn, our youngest son has yet to make up his mind, our middle son is set on being batman yet again, and this year our oldest son is set on being a soldier.

In our hunt to find the perfect soldier costume, we found our way back to The Costume Super Center, which has various costumes in the military category. The Delta Force costume for kids was just what my 10-year-old had thought about, and he was thrilled to find that it came in his size. We ordered a size large/12-14, as our son is on the tall size and usually wears size 12-14. The soldier costume fit him perfectly, and my son was incredibly proud to be the owner of such a great-looking military costume.

He was eager to test out the costume, and he wanted to check out how well the camouflage Delta Force costume would blend in with the surroundings.

We tested it out at the park…

We were all very impressed with how well the camouflaged soldier costume hid him, and my 10-year-old declared that it was the perfect military costume.

One of the big selling points for my son was that the military costume came with a hat, as some costumes do not. The hat is actually a bucket hat, and it can be used with or without the rest of the costume. The Delta Force costume comes with a pair of camouflage pants, a camouflage jacket, a vest, and the hat.

The Delta Force costume comes in size small (4-6), medium (8 – 10) and large (12 -14), and as mentioned above the size large fit my 10 1/2 year-old-son perfectly, and he is tall for his age.

The costume is made out 100 percent cotton, and according to the instructions it needs to be hand washed only.

The Delta Force costume is the perfect soldier costume for my 10-year-old son, and he is very proud to be dressed up as a soldier this upcoming Halloween. The costume has everything he asked for, and the quality is great. The costume surpassed our expectations, and we have a very happy tween boy in the house, because of this costume.

  1. Wow, you’re totally ahead of the game! But I love that he gets the chance to enjoy the costume now, instead of just for that one night of trick or treating!

  2. My grandson would love that since his dad and Uncle were in the army and he loves costumes. Almost daily, he goes in and has another one of his costumes on. Seems Spiderman is his favorite lately but we need a change. He has others but goes back to the same one every day.

  3. Love the images of camouflage around town and out of town. My daughter would have loved this when she was young. Looks like a great quality item, too. And our soldiers are great heros to admire and imitate.

    • Cheryl, my son loves it and he so proud to have such a great costume to wear for Halloween. At this age it is about coming up with a cool outfit that will bring admiration from his peers, and I think he’s found it.

  4. Being the dads wear camouflage a lot the kids like to also. But usually you can only find pants or a t-shirt in camo for them. Besides this being a great costume for them for Halloween they can get use out of it all year round.

  5. That looks like a nice costume. My son has an army costume that he uses for dress up sometimes, too. For about two years now, his answer is “army doctor” any time someone asks what he wants to be when he grows up.

  6. This is a very realistic looking costume! And what a great way to help instill patriotism in your children.

  7. I love this costume! It looks like a real uniform – not a cheapy costume. I love how the hat isn’t an uncomfortable hard thing either. The pictures are hilarious. Glad he got to try out his costume all over the place! 🙂

  8. The Army stationed us in England a few years back and my 6 yo was invited to a few British birthday parties. They often would note on invites that it was a ‘Fancy Dress’ party which meant the kids were to come in costume. Normally no theme was specified which had us pulling out halloween costumes for an extra wearing.

  9. Looks like a very complete and well-made costume. Your son looks like he is really enjoying it.

  10. Looking at your pictures makes me think of my son (who is now 27) and how how easily I can see him enjoying playing with a costume like this.

  11. The costume looks really good. In looking at the pictures it seems like really good quality, from what I can tell, although I don’t like the fact that it is only hand washable.

  12. wow! that camouflage really works. i can barely see them in your pictures. sounds like a great addition to any imaginary play

  13. That is so cool.I had a hard time even seeing him in a couple of your pics so I say mission accomplished!!!I love it!!!Thanks for sharing 🙂

  14. That costume is very realistic and can be worn to play “soldier” throughout the year.

  15. Great costume for Halloween. My son would have picked this out to wear when he was younger.
