The produce drawer was looking empty, which means a trip to ALDI. This week ALDI has a fantastic deal on mini peppers, so I made sure to stock up. These mini peppers can easily cost up to $5 for a pound at other grocery stores, and the regular price at ALDI is about $2.59 for a lb. Our oldest son loves the mini peppers, and I love that it is a healthy snack that is treasured by him, so I stock up when they go on sale. These are also great for salads, pizza toppings, fajitas, stews, stir fries and such.
We also love the ALDI watermelons, and we buy one every week. This year, I’ve only encountered one less than satisfactory watermelon, the rest have been fantastic. We leave it on the counter for 6 days, and then we cut it a day before we head to ALDI for a new one, because leaving it for 4-6 days at room temperature makes it perfect. I cut everything up at one time, share it into containers, and then there is easy access to another healthy snack option for the kids (and the grown ups).
We also picked up a big ALDI pizza for after swim class, since there is very little time to cook after getting all the kids showered.
