With a family of six we are always looking for fun, frugal and free family activities, and I know a lot of Frugality Is Free readers is doing so as well. This is why I’ve decided to post a list of Free Halloween Events in South Florida.


Free Halloween Events in Miami-Dade County:


Event: Dolphin Mall’s Spooktacular Halloween Party, Miami, FL

When: Thursday, October 31st at 5:30 – 9:30 p.m.

Cost: FREE

Location: Dolphin Mall, 11401 NW 12th St, Miami,

What: Kids can go trick or treating or participate in activities such as sing a longs, games, live music and more. There will be face painting, balloon artists and costume contests as well.

Event: Southland Mall Halloween, Miami, FL

When: Thursday, October 31st at 4 – 6 pm

Cost: FREE

Location: Southland Mall, 20505 South Dixie Highway, Miami, FL 33189

What: Halloween Trick or Treating at the Southland Mall, sponsored by Miami Children’s Hospital, on Thursday, October 31.

Candy-filled goodie bags will be distributed from 4-6pm (while supplies last) near the fountain area by TJ Maxx.

Event: Pines Night Out, Pembroke Pines, FL

When: Friday, October 25th at 6-9 p.m.

Cost: FREE

Location: Walter C. Young Middle School is at 901 N.W. 129th Ave., Pembroke Pines, FL

What: According to a press release from the city of Pembroke Pines, “The event will offer informative presentations for families, a costume contest for children ages 4 to 15, child ID, the safety smokehouse, SWAT and firetrucks, K-9 demonstrations, bounce houses, health screenings, stage shows, face painting, free food and giveaways.”

Event: Boo Bash Halloween, Hollywood, FL

When: Friday, October 25th at 7-10 p.m.

Location: ArtsPark at Young Circle, Hollywood Boulevard and U.S. 1, Hollywood, Fl.

What: The annual ArtsPark BOO Bash is a safe place for kids in costumes to come tick or treat on spooky trail. There will also be a costume contest and a concert by The Monsters.

Event: Halloween Night at Ansin Ansin sports Complex, Miramar, FL

When: Thursday, October 31st at 6-9 p.m.

Location: Ansin Sports Complex – 10801 Miramar Boulevard, Miramar, FL

What: A safe alternative for “Trick or  Treaters” of all ages. All children and parents are encouraged to show up dressed in costumes. Treats for the trick and treaters plus entertainment for children will include music, games, and rides. Food and  beverages will be available for purchase.

Due to limited parking, overflow parking will be available at the Miramar Town  Center, 2300 Civic Center Place. The City will provide shuttle bus service from  Town Center Place to the Ansin Sports Complex for the event.

What: A safe options for Halloween instead of traditional door-to-door trick or treating.  Plenty of treats,

Free Halloween Events in Palm Beach County:


Event: Spooktakular Halloween, Delray Beach, FL

When: Saturday, October 26th at Trick or treat: 11:30 am – 1:00 pm, 1:00 pm Halloween parade, 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm kids fest

Cost: FREE

Location: Downtown, Delray Beach, Fl.

What: 11:30 – 1 pm Children can show off their Halloween costumes and Trick-or-Treat along the avenue and Pineapple Grove (between Swinton Avenue and the Intracoastal Waterway.)

1 pm Halloween parade start at the southeast corner of Old School Square Park. The Halloween Parade route will go east on Atlantic Avenue through downtown Delray Beach to Veterans Park.

After the Halloween parade, families can participate in Kidsfest, which  is a free family event in Veterans Park, 802 NE 1st Street,
that features live entertainment, a bounce house, food vendors, a make-and-take craft area and much, much more.  In addition, local children’s services/organizations that target health, safety and fun  will be featured to provide additional information to parents.
