Frugality Is Free Disclaimer review and giveaway

This year all my oldest son put on his birthday wish list were Goosebumps movies and books by R.L. Stine, so to say that we have an R.L. Stine fan in the family is quite an understatement. He did get what he wished for, and our boys especially loved the new R.L. Stine’s: The Haunting Hour The Series Vol. 5 & 6.

R.L. Stine's The Haunting Hour: The Series Vols 5 & 6

With quite a R.L. Stine library in the house, I wasn’t sure whether the R.L. Stine The Haunting Hour The Series Vol. 5 & 6 would impress enough, but it sure did.

The characters from the boys’ favorite R.L. Stine books came to live on the screen, and the kids enjoyed every scary moment. The talk around the dinner table still centers on conversations about Scary Mary quite frequently, and it seems that the Haunting Hour series continues to linger long after the first viewing. Of course, the boys ages 4, 7 and 11 have watched R.L. Stine The Haunting Hour The Series Vol. 5 & 6 several times by now, but they simply cannot get enough.

My 11-year-old’s favorite episode on R.L. Stine’s The Haunting Hour Volume 6 is the episode “Sick”, but he thinks the “Mascot” episode is the scariest one. On the Volume 5, his favorite episode is “Flight”, because the leaper comes out of nowhere.

The two DVD collections from the award-winning second season of the Hub Network’s hit television series “R.L. Stine’s The Haunting Hour: The Series have been released on DVD  as a collaboration  between Shout! Factory and the Hub Network.

“R.L. Stine’s The Haunting Hour: The Series” can be watched Saturdays at 6 and 6:30 p.m. (ET) on the Hub, Network a television destination for kids and their families. The popular children’s anthology series recently received the 2013 Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Children’s Series from the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, and is a recipient of multiple Parents Choice Awards.

My kids are obviously not the only kids, who love R.L. Stine and his spooky tales, because R.L. Stine has written hundreds of horror stories and sold over 400 million books worldwide. He is the recipient of a Children’s Choice Award, and the author holds the Guinness World Record for the #1 best-selling children’s book author for three years running.
