Today I needed a break! Don’t get me wrong, I love my kids – all four of them – but this morning I woke up knowing that I needed to take a break for the benefit of them and myself. So, I got all five us out the door and to the YMCA. All four kids were dropped off at childcare, and I made it to my favorite exercise class, just as they had begun running laps.
Oh boy, did I need it. I ran faster than ever, and enjoyed it even more so. Once the class was over, I went to check on the kids, and all four of them seemed to be quite happy with their mommy free time, and so I decided to go and sort through all of the coupons. I knew I had a bunch to throw out, since it was the beginning of the new year, and I wanted to go grocery shopping afterward as well.
I got everything done, and by the time the kids’ two hours at the childwatch were over, I was refreshed and ready for them again.
Now, although I had gotten my exercise, the kids now needed to move a little, so we headed for a mile long walk, the playground, and then finally Publix.
There are some fantastic coupons out at the beginning of the year, and I made sure to take advantage to stock up on some of the groceries that the kids love, but that I do not necessarily love buying for them.
What about you? Are you ready to drop any bickering and fighting kids off at school yet? With my little YMCA break, I am ready for a few more days.
