Publix coupon deals

I usually give out lots of coupons to neighbors, friends and even strangers in the store, but this morning I was the lucky recipient  of some coupon generosity. A kind lady handed me a bunch of $5 off $30 Winn Dixie coupons, and boy did it feel great to be on the recipient side. I can tell you this – I am extremely grateful to this kind and generous stranger.

I went to Publix to get General Mills cereal, Smart Balance lactose free milk (before the sale ends), new pacifiers and baby food for our little one, but I decided to pick up more baby food and some cereal to get the total over $30 before coupons.

At the check out line, my jaw dropped when I was told that I could not use Target coupons because it said “in store only”….what? A manager was called, and thankfully this issue was resolved in no time. There has been no policy change, and of course the Target coupons state that you have to use them at Target…isn’t that what competitor coupons are all about?

For a few minutes there, I was a bit flustered and quite worried though.

The Happy Baby baby food pouches were showing a $1.09 sale, but they scanned at $1.19, while it might not sound like much of a difference that is an extra $0.70, and the manger said that she gave me one of the items for free, since it rang up wrong. That’s the first time I’ve seen this happen at Publix, but I’m not one to complain.
