I will admit it, I do not like grocery shopping during the summer months. Why? Because I have four kids in tow, and it just makes shopping a bit of a hassle. Still, with four kids in the family, the fridge has to be filled.
This week lactose free milk was on sale plus there are great coupons, making it 1.95 per half gallon compared to regular price of $4+ per half gallon, so we decided to stock up. Our little one just switched to regular milk, but like all three of her big brothers she immediately started breaking out in a rash and had stomach issues….so we assume she is has lactose intolerance just like her brothers and her dad. I sure wish that we had a bigger fridge, or at least a bigger freezer. For now our fridge is as full as it can be, but I know from experience that it only takes two days before we can start seeing free space again.
We started out at the library, then at the playground and finally made it to Publix. I decided to skip Target this week, but I have Target gift cards saved up for the upcoming 70 percent off Target toy clearance sale. Still, today the playground called our name and Target didn’t.
So for our family of 6 we spent $64 on groceries this week! It’s a little under budget, but last week we were over budget, so it all evens out.
Are you wondering whether Publix is closed on the Forth of July? If so, check out our Publix 4th of July hours post here.
