Finding the right gifts for teen and tween boys can be difficult, especially if you want to avoid the video game section. Here in the Frugality Is Free family we put an emphasis on creativity, imagination and knowledge, and as a result we have four creative, independent thinking, book-loving and active kids. A week ago our middle son turned 9, and he is especially difficult to find gifts for, because he is all about sharks. Still, thanks to Eitech we were able to go outside of his usual comfort zone of sharks and LEGOs, because he was thrilled to unwrap the Eitech Radio Control Monster Truck.
The Special Edition Black/Green Radio Control Monster Truck from Eitech gave way to many envious eyes, and it also created some much needed father-son bonding time. With a hard-working, busy dad, and three siblings, special one-on-one time with dad is rare, but our son Sawyer got to spend his entire birthday with dad building this awesome monster truck from Eitech..
See the radio-control vehicles from Eitech are not just like any other radio-control car, because you actually have to build your vehicle. This might sound like a daunting task, and don’t get me wrong, I made sure to enlist my husband for the task way before the unwrapping of this special gift. Of course Sawyer had a little too much fun on the playground with his uncles the week before his birthday, which meant that he celebrated turning 9 with a broken thumb and a very decorative thumb splint. This made constructing his new gift a littler harder than usual, but with the help from his dad the two of them put together this build-it-yourself vehicle.
At first our boys ages 5, 9 and 12 were skeptical, when Sawyer opened the box and discovered that this remote-control truck had to be built, but thanks to my husband’s meticulous work, all of the kids learned a few lessons on how to build things. Before starting Sawyer and his dad carefully counted and labelled all of the pieces in the box, and then they slowly but surely began putting the different components together.
The Eitech construction toys are intricate with many details and great craftsmanship, which means that you really have to have patience while building the toys.
Several hours after beginning the work on the Eitech Radio Control Monster Truck, Sawyer and his brothers were able to reap the fruit of the intricate work and patience, because the result was one amazing monster truck.
