Frugality Is Free Disclaimer review and giveaway

Tori Amos fans around the world can celebrate, as Rhino Records has released remastered versions of Tori Amos’ first two albums: Little Earthquakes (1992) and Under The Pink (1994). Each album is available to purchase as 2xCD sets with bonus discs including B-side, rarities and live tracks, and the albums will also be released on vinyl for the first time in the U.S.Tori Amos Under The Pink

Amos’ second album Under The Pink is full of acoustic, piano based songs that expresses her challenges, her strict upbringing and her emotional journey through intimate lyrics. The eccentricities are exposed and Amos pours her heart out to anyone who will listen, and the melodic songs touches those who can relate.

If you have yet to be acquainted with Tori Amos, the Under The Pink album is a great way to start and of course her first album Little Earthquakes is a must have as well. Tori Amos’ lyrics may be controversial at times, but for her faithful followers she speaks her truth, and for that the album becomes a truthful blend of personal lyrics that touches deeply.

“Ms. Amos said her first album was like a diary; her second, like a painting […] In her songs and her poses, control and abandon strike a fascinating, uneasy truce.”

– The New York Times

Under The Pink

Little Earthquakes

These albums have been carefully remastered at Abbey Road Studios from the original source tapes, and the CDs includes bonus discs with some of the relevant B-sides for each album. Little Earthquakes and Under The Pink were just the beginning of Tori Amos’ musical journey, but for those of us coming of age in the 1990s, these songs represent a part of our self-discovery, and just as the rest of us Amos has matured over the years. Amos’ songs are still as relevant today as they were back in the 90s, and these remastered albums should be able to influence yet another generation or two.
