Weekly Savings Linky

We didn’t do much shopping this week, but we squeezed in an early ALDI trip on Monday after a pool trip, and today we made a quick Publix stop after a trip to the gym and the pool. The last two weeks were heavy shopping weeks with all the 4th of July sales, so I (and the kids) were happy to take a shopping break this week.

Our grocery budget was also happy to get a little breathing room after a light week.

Are you taking a shopping break this summer?

Feel free to share your Friday finals at the Weekly Savings Linky below. How did you do?

  1. I find it so hard to coupon during the summer, I gave up a few weeks ago. You did very well this week though 🙂

    • Jenn, my coupons are in a complete disarray. It is pure luck that I’m able to save anything with coupons these days.

  2. After years, we’re FINALLY getting an Aldi. Can anybody advise on the quality of their meats? We have a Save A Lot here in town and I’m a little leery of their meats. Only buy packaged goods at SAL.

    • Cat, getting an ALDI nearby has saved us a lot of money, but even more importantly it has enabled us to provide all the fruits and vegetables that our family desire.

As for their meat, the ALDI quality is much different than Save A Lot. We only buy meat at ALDI, Publix and Target. At Publix and Target we can only buy, when we have meat coupons. Mostly we buy our chicken at ALDI, the quality is great. Just stay away from the frozen chicken, which I found to be watered up in weight. The price is fantastic on the fresh chicken, and we have never had a quality issue. The beef prices are similar to those at Publix, but sometimes we find a deal with dollar off stickers off, and even then the meat is high quality and we stock up.
