I’m preparing for all three boys to start school on Wednesday, which is quite an endeavor. Our kids have been living out of suitcases for the past couple of weeks first with packing, then staying at a hotel for a few days and then finally as we’ve been trying to get settled in our new home. Since the kids will be starting new schools without a uniform policy, this meant new (or new to them) wardrobes, so whenever I’ve had a chance I’ve gotten free or cheap clothes from our favorite online consignment store.

Well, now all of the clothes is being unpacked, washed and hung in their new closet, and after two boys we’d run out of hangers. Thankfully Target has a sale on hangers this week at $2 for an 18-pack, and then with an additional 10 percent off Target Cartwheel discount.

While I was at Target I decided to check out their meat prices. We’ve found that almost everything is a little more expensive up here, which may be because it is a tourist town. In South Florida I was lucky to have a Target store, which often had $2, $3, and even $4 meat coupons on their fresh meat, but I doubt that will be the case here, as it was a very busy Target store, and it is the only Target store around. Still, with this week’s $5 Target meat coupon, I was able to fill up our freezer with beef at an affordable price. Then we buy chicken at ALDI at ALDI prices, and maybe we’ll be back on track with our grocery budget again. For now it is way out of whack.

  1. From your Instagram pictures, it looks like your are up near St. Augustine! Can’t wait to see the deals you get. I live just west of the river so it will be neat to follow a blogger in my area! I never found the deals in central Fl that you found in south Fl, so maybe your north Fl luck will rub off now!

    • Michelle, we are still adjusting, and while some prices are higher, I’m thrilled to see that some of the ALDI prices are actually lower than what we’re used to. It’s going to take a little while to get into the deal hunting, but I’ll be on it soon enough.

  2. I’ve actually never purchased meat from Target before. How do you think it compares to Publix? I really don’t like Kroger meat (beef) so I just stick to Publix.
