It’s been a crazy couple of weeks here in the Frugality Is Free family. After years of planning, plus a summer and spring trying to buy a home many hours away, we have finally arrived. We’re home, living in my favorite place in the world, and it feels so good.
We have so much to do still, but we’re getting one thing done at a time.
The kids are now registered in their new schools, which I was panicking about, since we got the deed less than two weeks before the first day of school. Our two youngest sons have been in their old schools’ gifted program, and I’m keeping my fingers crossed that this will continue at their new school. One son has his official testing and paperwork for gifted already, but the youngest does not, but we’re keeping our fingers crossed that it will go smoothly.
As for grocery shopping, it’s been done on the fly. We were able to bring some appliances with us, but we still need a fridge, a range hood and a new dishwasher, so it’s complicating things a bit. We brought a small mini fridge with us, which is keeping us afloat. It has just enough space for our water bottles and a few items of food, but it is better than nothing. I sure am looking forward to our new fridge being delivered on Wednesday though.
So to make up for the small fridge, we’ve made a couple of mini trips to ALDI, which is thankfully only a few minutes away. What a treat! Despite having moved to a MUCH smaller town, we still have almost all the stores that we are used to, and we’re still trying to find our way around.
