For the past month the 1byone Solar Charger has been by my side, and it sure is a great wing man. It has been with me through a move, a tropical storm and out and about, but the best part is that it has been loyal through it all.
Just yesterday the kids and I went on a five mile, five hour long adventure walk around our new city, starting at the beach, visiting four playgrounds, several marinas, over bridges, under wooden canopies and finally ending downtown. About half-way through our walk, my smartphone made it down to a 37 percent charge. It had been used as our navigator, our camera, our video camera and it was tracking our path throughout the day as well.
It was a sunny day mixed with few clouds, and I pulled out the 1byone Solar Charger. It rested easily on top the jogging stroller almost blending in with the black cover, I attached our Samsung smartphone, and then I let it rest in the stroller pouch – it was the perfect solution.
The 1byone Solar Charger immediately began charging my phone, and it was a good thing it did. Just minutes after attaching the phone to the solar charger, my younger brother called. We were on the phone for about twenty minutes, while the kids took a snack break in the shade of live oak trees overlooking the river.
After the phone call, which usually sucks out the phone charge like crazy, the charge was at 41 percent. As soon as I hung up and we were on our way again, the charge steadily increased, and it did not take long to make it up past 50 percent, all while I still took photos of our beautiful surroundings.
I cannot say enough good things about the solar charger from 1byone. It is a steady charger, that does what it needs to, and it serves an immediate need when it is needed the most.
In the past month or so we’ve used the solar charger on cloudy days and on sunny days. While the solar charger clearly charges much better on clear sunny days, it actually does charge on cloudy days as well although at a much slower and a bit more erratic pace.
The design of the solar charger is simple with four small solar panels hidden in a soft pouch, in which a small charger is hidden as well. To use the solar charger, you just need to unfold the panels and leave them in view of the sun. The charger connects to your phone or other small power product such as a camera or tablet via a USB cord, and the charger lights up as soon as it starts charging. It’s such a simply, yet extremely effective product, and everyone at our house are impressed. In fact, the boys have all expressed wishes for a solar charger for their birthdays.
