I always start back-to-school shopping, when Target start their back to school clearance in September. This worked out especially well for us this year, as we moved across the state abut a week before school started up.
Up here in north Florida, it seems that Target clearance is just a little bit different in what I’m used to in South Florida. I used to have my pick between five different Target stores, but here there’s about 25 miles to the next Target store. So, despite only being at 50 percent off Target clearance our local Target store was pretty wiped. I did find a few items at 70 percent off in between the 50 percent off clearance. If yu’re looking for back packs and lunch boxes, you can get an extra 10 percent off with the Target Cartwheel app.
I did find some specific items I was looking for including a new pencil pouch and pencil sharpener for our youngest boys, as a few of the penny deals didn’t last the first month of school. Next year, we have one son starting middle school and one starting high school so it’s going to be a different ballgame for sure. Still, at least now I have an idea of what our son starting middle school will be needing, including a big binder.
