This week was a big one for us, because FIF dad got a new job with with regular work hours and a daily commute. This  is fantastic news for our family, and we are overjoyed. We took a big risk moving to North Florida without a job, but we needed to get our kids where they could be safe, and it is already such a big lifestyle change. Still, my husband being employed is a huge relief, and we are so incredibly thankful.

It also means that we are on a new shopping schedule, and I’m trying to figure it all out how to juggle doctor’s appointments, kids, running errands and grocery shopping with no car around. In South Florida my husband was self employed, and he had a lot of flexibility in his schedule when it came to driving us to appointments grocery shopping etc. Now he is working an hour away with no flexibility, and this means a new chapter for all of us. Thankfully the kids school’s are close by, and everything is in biking distance.

This past month I’ve gotten used to having my husband home with the car at all times, but now that we are back to being a one car family, my new bike is taking Bellamy Blue and I everywhere. I’ve literally biked more than 30 miles this week and walked about 6-7 miles, but I have the feeling that this will soon become the norm, and maybe it will make me miss the gym less.

It sure is a good thing that FIF dad found a new job, because we ‘re coming to terms with the fact that getting the weekly grocery bill under $100 is going to be very difficult for our family of six.

While I shopped, I made sure to pick up points for Amazon and Marshall gift cards, which I then use towards gifts for the kids for birthdays and Christmas. You can read more about Shopkick and other places we use to earn money from shopping at our Earn Money post here.
