JCPenney Shoe Clearance – $266 Worth of Sandals for $15! ($2.21 A Pair)

JCPenney seems to be having lots of trouble with their investors, but as long-time JCP customers, everyone in the FIF family are big JCPenney fans. This fall, we’ve been enjoying their extra percent off clearance prices, but as the clearance sections at our small local JCPenney store diminished, we thought we had seen the end of the great prices.

Then JCP lured us back in with another $10 off $10 JCPenney coupon. We never let one of these go to waste. We also received an extra 15 percent off JCPenney coupon and both went to good use.

After browsing the store’s clearance racks and shelves, we finally settled on a pair of white sandals for Bellamy Blue. They pink JCP clearance sticker said $12.25, so we brought up the pair of shoes together with our $10 off $10 JCPenney coupon and a JCPenney gift card from Ebates.

At the register our favorite cashier informed us that the shoes were 70 percent off the sticker price, so they only cost a little more than $3. “Go back and find more”, she said to us, “I know you can find some goodies with all of your kids.”

And so we returned to the kids’ shoe section. Unfortunately we did not find anything for the boys, but Bellamy Blue now has fancy summer sandals for years to come. Living in Florida sandals are worn most of the year except for at school and the winter months, where we love wearing boots.

We walked out of JCPenney with 7 boxes of shoes, paid $15.49 out of pocket or $0 after the JCPenney gift card from Ebates. That’s about $2.21 for each pair of sandals.

Why do we shop ahead? Because with four kids in the family, we know that the kids grow faster than we expect them too, and we always have a clothing box and shoe box ready for when it is time to switch up a size. This is how we dress our family of six on a teacher’s salary.
