This week was a record winning week for my family, as we won six….6! great giveaways. We won two Wahl massagers (one for my mother in law, and one for my husband for father’s day), one set of Wahl hot and cold therapy massaging gel packs (for my husband for father’s day as well), a Make A Plate Kit, a Dymo label machine, and finally I just found out today that we won a customized nursing pillow cover from Brownies N Butterflies at Ahh-Mazing Giveaways.

I also got the prettiest tutu skirt in the door today from Waterhouse Creations, and I absolutely love it. I have definitely proved to myself that it is possible to win lots of great giveaways without cheating, and I certainly love winning these great prizes.

mott's juice

Our family goes through a lot of juice every month, and despite the fact that we dillute it with water, it always seem that we are running low on juice. So, when a good deal on juice arises, I make sure to stock up. A good price on good juice is $1.25 or less, so I made sure to pick up several bottles of Mott’s Juice on sale at $2 each at Publix this week. To make the deal even better, I used this $1 Mott’s coupon to pay only $1 a deal.

 To Be Loved Cover

I had only heard one or two Michael Bublé songs, before I got my hands on Bublé’s new album “To Be Loved“, and now I surely feel as if I have been missing out on some great music over the years. I knew that there was a very specific Bublé style, but I certainly did not realize that I would fall in love with the Bublé style. Every song on this album stays true to this Bublé style, which is a mix of big band/and old classics with his distinctive memorable voice that make you want to get on the dance floor and pull out the big moves.

From the beginning to the end “To Be Loved” is filled with songs that moves you, songs that makes you want to dance, songs that makes you want to return to a simpler time. To Be Loved is Michael Buble’s 7th studio album, and it features 4 original songs as well as and classic cover songs such as Bee Gees hit “To Love Somebody”, Dean Martin’s “Nevertheless (I’m In Love With You”), the Jackson 5 early ‘70’s smash “Who’s Loving You”, Jackie Wilson’s “To Be Loved” and the Elvis Presley classic “Have I Told You Lately”.

I am a big Reese Witherspoon fan, so one of my favorites on this album is definitely the Frank and Nancy Sinatra duet “Something Stupid”, where Reese Witherspoon joins Bublé in a fun and simple duet.

Michael Buble’s To Be Loved is a success with everyone in our house. Not only do I love it, but the kids love it, which means I get to play it again and again without complaints. Even baby Bellamy Blue seems to enjoy Bublé’s To Be Loved, which seems to confirm our suspicion that she has a bit of an old soul.

It’s the kind of cd that you can listen to again and again, and I will admit that I just keep playing it over and over again, while I am working on the computer. It puts me in a great mood! It puts me in a writing mood, and any album that puts me in a writing mood is a keeper. Every number on To Be Loved is a hit – Bublé style!

Ice cream cones
After swimming in the ocean, we went to get free ice cream cones on the beach with the kids and their grandparents yesterday, and it sure was a frugal treat with six people in our group. We had to eat ice cream in the shade though,  as they were melting very fast.

OctaviaOctavia and Her Purple Ink Cloud is a cute and educational story about Octavia Octapus, who lives in a secret cave in a coral reef. Through a game called “how to hide from a hungry creature”, she teaches kids how different animals use different tactics to escape harm from predators.

In addition to teaching kids about ocean animals, the book Octavia also teaches kids about colors. While Octavia is trying to show the other ocean animals how she can squirt purple ink, she ends up squirting out ink in different colors.

My three-year-old son loved this book by Donna and Doreen Rathmell, and he carefully studied each of Connie McLennan’s colorful and detailed illustrations. He has had a difficult time learning the colors, so this was the perfect book for him.

My seven-year-old son thought Octavia was an easy read, and he had a particular interest in the For Creative Minds section in the back of the book, which teahces and quizzes children about animal camouflage, protection and adaptions.

Haagen-Dazs free ice cream day

Tomorrow is Haagen-Dazs free cone day, so bring the kids to your local Haagen-Dazs and have a frugal treat. I’m definitely putting a note in my calendar, because with three boys in the family a treat out can easily become expensive.

Restrictions: Offer valid 05/14/2013 4-8 pm.  Valid only at participating Haagen-Dazs(R) Shop locations. Limit one free 4 oz portion of ice cream, gelato, sorbet or frozen yogurt per customer. Cannot be combined with any other offer.

Will you be taking the kids to Haagen-Dazs free ice cream day?

If there is one important lesson that anyone striving to be frugal must implement, it is buying ahead. This goes for almost anything, which does not have a short expiration date, as you want to buy things at the best price before you need them and end up paying full price. Right now is the time to buy fall and winter coats and jackets, as the companies are clearing out inventory in order to get room for the summer season and next season’s coats and jackets. Check out this post for some girls winter coats clearance, and take a look around Amazon.com to see, if there is something for yourself or any of your kids.

The thing about girls winter coats clearance is that some of the great deals only come in specific sizes, so to find the right deal and the right place, you might have to do some searching. Below are some of my favorite deals on girls winter coats clearance on Amazon.com, and most of them come with free shipping on orders of $25+ as well as free returns.

Happy Mother’s Day!

I wanted to wish all of you a Happy Mother’s Day!

We usually spend the morning on the beach on Mother’s Day, but this year I fell asleep without packing our beach bags, and I did not wake up until after 8 a.m.

This year I’ve received the best gift I could ever wish for – my daughter!

I hope that all of you Moms get to be pampered today

….you deserve it!
