I’m back with the Weekly Savings Linky again. I took a month off, because I had to prioritize. It has been a stressful fall around here with settling in, getting our new home renovated and my husband getting a new job with a bit of a commute. Because of all of this I often ended up going grocery shopping on the weekend, which threw off the savings linky schedule.… Read more
I started the day out with a trip to the beach. After this insane week, the kids and I needed to breathe in some fresh salty air, and just listening to the waves added a little calm to our spirits. We made a quick trip to Publix, and we got a lot of errands done with, since FIF dad has the car throughout the week , so usually I just ride around town on the bike.… Read more
It’s been yet another crazy week in the world of a family with four kids. One of our kids had an appointment in nearby big city, which meant an all day trip, since we are a one-car family. After the appointment, the kids and I spent time at a mall until my husband returned from work. This meant lots of great deals, but we still did not make it to Publix yet.… Read more
Last week I was in the middle of editing my Weekly Savings Linky post, when we lost power. We had evacuated to a hotel more inland, but when Hurricane Matthew came close to our beautiful town, almost everyone in our county lost power. With the exception of a brief period Saturday morning, we had lost power at our home from Friday to late Sunday too.… Read more
This week was a big one for us, because FIF dad got a new job with with regular work hours and a daily commute. This is fantastic news for our family, and we are overjoyed. We took a big risk moving to North Florida without a job, but we needed to get our kids where they could be safe, and it is already such a big lifestyle change.… Read more
It was another busy week, and we went over budget once again. We found lots of great deals though, and we stocked up on cereal, which seems to disappear way too fast around here.
While I shopped I made sure to pick up points for Amazon and Marshall gift cards, which I then use towards gifts for the kids for birthdays and Christmas.… Read more
I won my first giveaway in six months this week, and I hope to find a few Christmas gifts at OshKosh with the gift card I won. When we began looking at homes in the spring, I stopped entering knowing that it can take up to six months for a prize to arrive, and I just started up entering again. With Christmas coming up and a smaller gift budget than ever, I am going to have to rely on giveaway wins to make our kids happy this year.… Read more
It was a crazy week around here, and I barely got my shopping posted. Between appointments and meetings, and everything else I’m amazed that I actually made it to more than one store. My grocery total is a bit higher than it really is, since I spent money n painting stuff at ALDI – I’m just too lazy to divide it up today.… Read more
It was a busy week around here, but shopping got done, and with four hungry kids the fridge surely needs to be filled. While I shopped I made sure to pick up points for Amazon and Marshall gift cards, which I then use towards gifts for the kids for birthdays and Christmas. I didn’t quite make it down to our $80 grocery budget, but I inched a little closer than the week before, so at least it’s going in the right direction.
I made it to our local mall for the first time, and although I spent $8 on some gifts, I also earned a $5 gift card from Shopkick just from checking out some stores at the mall.… Read more
I failed getting our grocery budget under control for yet another week. I keep hoping that we’ll make it closer to $80, but we are not there yet. On a good note, we actually got a $20 check from Checkout 51. You can read more about Checkout 51, and other places we use to earn money from grocery shopping at our Earn Money post here.… Read more
Although we spent less on the grocery budget than we have in the previous weeks, we were still far above our $0 grocery budget for our family of six. I stocked up big time on cereal, and little by little our pantry is getting restocked.… Read more
